A Unique Attraction in Buckhorn Saloon and Museum

If you are in San Antonio for a holiday and looking for a place that has a unique and interesting collection of artifacts, then head to Buckhorn Saloon and Museum located at 300 E. Houston Street in Downtown San Antonio. This museum was originally privately owned by Albert Friedrich, and features lots of many different horns.

The Buckhorn Museum

This unique museum features wildlife from all over the world, collected for more than 100 years. Charter bus visitors can view more than 520 species of mounted and stuffed wildlife. Some of the specimens found here hold records such as the 1,056 pound black marlin and a 10,000 year old pre-historic Irish elk.

The most prized record holder at the Buckhorn Museum is the famous ‘78 Point Buck’ sold to Albert Friedrich himself in 1890. Other interesting exhibits found at the museum rental bus visitors will enjoy is like the works of art by Emile, Albert’s wife, made from rattlesnakes rattles.

The Texas Ranger Museum

Of course, when visiting this lovely attraction, you should not miss out on the drinks and food available, served in the original furnishings of the original Buckhorn Saloon. This includes the back-bar which was hand-crafted of marble and cherry wood.

For some awesome authentic Texan food, try the traditional Texas BBQ brisket, ribs and chicken, mouth-watering bacon and cheddar burgers at the Buckhorn Cafe. The popular dish among locals here is the Buckhorn Burger; a must-try!
